Recurring leaker and freelance games journalist Tom Henderson has shared some interesting rumors pertaining to a remake of Naughty Dog’s original post-apocalyptic hit, The Last of Us.

According to Henderson’s tweets posted yesterday afternoon, a remake of The Last of Us not only exists but is already close to completion, with a potential release date set for the latter half of 2022. The original game was released on June 14, 2013, for the PlayStation 3 console.

“Heard from multiple people now that the TLOU remake is nearly finished and could release during the latter half of 2022,” Henderson stated.

I totally forgot this was a thing. Maybe if it releases on PC I can finally enjoy the game. As I hated almost every minute of it on console.

I loved this game back on PS3. I played the HD version on PS4 and was totally meh.

I was a big fan of Naughty Dog since the Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin days. Loved Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3, loved every Jak and Daxter game (not counting the racing game which I've never played), loved all the Amy Hennig Uncharted games (and also Lost Legacy). But I just could NOT get into TLoU. I never finished it, ended up watching the rest of the game on YT. A friend of mine has the second game, and he and another friend really enjoyed it. I'd like to borrow it from him and try it out for myself. Not expecting to really care for it either though. Being on PC might improve the experience of both games, but I still don't know if it would make me actually like the games.

Anyways I kinda feel it's too early to do a remake of this game already.

I expected the second to be the same kind of struggle gameplay wise as the first one was, but to my surprise it was much better, it might not look that different from the outside but it is a much better game. I tried to re-play TLOU Remastered on PS4 before the second came out and it was still just as bad as I remembered.
