Warner Bros. and “Planet of the Apes” director Matt Reeves may have finally found their Batman. According to Variety, former “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson will be the latest actor to play the Caped Crusader, replacing Ben Affleck, who bowed out after 2017's Justice League.
The script is still being written, but some rumors suggest Reeve’s take will explore the detective side of Batman. Insiders say the film could start filming late this year.
A former “Twilight” heartthrob who has successfully turned to arthouse fare, Pattinson, 33, becomes the second-youngest actor to ever play Batman on the big screen after Christian Bale, who was 31 when “Batman Begins” premiered in 2005.
