Ron Perlman to Voice Optimus Primal in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Paramount Pictures recently confirmed that it would be releasing a seventh live-action Transformers film called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which will introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons from the popular Beast Wars: Transformers storyline. Collider has learned that actor Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) has signed on to voice the leader of the Maximals, Optimus Primal—a descendant of Optimus Prime who transforms into a large robotic ape rather than a trailer truck. Perlman is a natural choice, as the actor actually provided the voice for the character in the animated TV series Transformers: Power of the Primes.
