Samsung Announces PCIe 5.0 SSD with 13,000 MB/s Read and 6,600 MB/s Write Speeds

Samsung today announced the PM1743, a new SSD that offers blazing-fast performance thanks in large part to its integration of the speedy PCIe 5.0 interface.



Although the SSD appears to be primarily designed for enterprise usage, Samsung’s PM1743 is set to offer a sequential read speed of up to 13,000 megabytes per second (MB/s) and a random read speed of 2,500K input/output operations per second (IOPS), blowing away its PCIe 4.0 counterparts. The SSD also offers a sequential write speed of 6,600 MB/s and a random write speed of 250K IOPS.

How about working on lowering costs for higher density. No one gives a $h!t about filling up a 1 TB drive as fast as possible.
