Samsung Develops 20 Gbps and 24 Gbps GDDR6 Memory, More Potential Options for Next-Gen Graphics Cards

Micron’s GDDR6X memory has seemingly met its match courtesy of Samsung, which confirmed new, faster types of GDDR6 memory on its official site.



According to the listings, Samsung has developed at least two new faster GDDR6 memory modules, the K4ZAF325BC-SC20 and K4ZAF325BC-SC24. The former offers a maximum bandwidth of 20 Gbps, an improvement over traditional GDDR6 (16 Gbps), while the latter offers a maximum bandwidth of 24 Gbps, making it faster than the GDDR6X that’s in use in graphics cards such as NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3080 (19 Gbps).
