AMD recently confirmed that it had partnered with Samsung to develop a next-generation Exynos SoC featuring custom RDNA 2 architecture-based graphics IP, enabling ray tracing and variable rate shading capabilities in flagship mobile devices. According to mobile hardware leaker Ice universe, Samsung will be unveiling its new Exynos SoC with AMD GPU in July following a slight delay from June. Samsung’s current flagship mobile processor, the Exynos 2100, is said to leverage an Arm Mali-G78 GPU for improved graphics performance by more than 40 percent. It’ll be interesting to see how Samsung and AMD’s collaboration compares against that already impressive claim.
