The Seasonic VERTEX GX-850 ATX 3.0 is an excellent 850W power supply. From a Build Quality that looks stunning to voltage regulation that is outstanding, efficiency that is better than promised, and DC Output Quality that is excellent this unit checks every box! When things go this well there is just not a lot to say.

Yupz, this review turned out exactly as I expected, because this is a Seasonic unit.

...it is toasting the competition like a 5-year-old with a toaster iron, a knife, and over-buttered bread. What? Was I the only one who set the kitchen on fire that way?

Seasonic seem to have really taken over the market with PSUs that just work. In fact, I have not really heard of PSU failures from any of the big brands. A far cry from the early 2000's when PUSs used to explode on a reviewer's test bench in the hot box. Now, it looks like DC-DC cnverters have become the norm on the secondary side. In future reviews it would be worth investigating the secondary side components a bit more (mainly out of curiosity).

If I remember correctly FPCAP used to be owned by Fujitsu until Nichion purchased it from them. If anyone is interested, the datasheets can be found HERE.
