Sega's classic zombie-and-monster-slaying light gun arcade shooters are getting a revival. Although the publisher couldn't give any specifics in regard to platforms and/or release dates, Forever Entertainment confirmed on Twitter yesterday it had signed up to produce enhanced versions of "The House of the Dead" and "The House of the Dead 2."
Forever Entertainment is the same company behind the Panzer Dragoon remakes for the Nintendo Switch, so they could be headed there. According to earlier reports, the remakes would have "new graphics adapted to modern standards and slightly modified gameplay."
Fans will be thrilled to learn, however, that the original script - brought to legendarily awful life by some of gaming's best-worst voice acting - will reportedly be left in tact. Quite how Forever intends to handle the whole light gun aspect of the experience, though, remains to be seen.
