Sega removed Denuvo from three of their past releases (Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Sonic Mania) and skipped it entirely with Yakuza Kiwami 2, which came out just this month, but it looks as if the publisher hasn’t abandoned the anti-tamper tech after all. Sega has admitted on Steam that both Team Sonic Racing (May 21) and Total War: Three Kingdoms (May 23) will include Denuvo.

DSOGaming also discovered that review copies of Bethesda’s Rage 2 (May 14) include Denuvo as well. They haven’t been able to confirm whether the retail versions have it, but it’s probably safe to assume so.

It’s really disappointing witnessing SEGA taking one step backwards regarding the DRM implementation in its titles. Still, we should note that pretty much all the latest Total War games use Denuvo so we don’t know whether its inclusion was made by the developers themselves or whether it was forced by the publisher.
