I do appreciate the design. And if I were building a workstation I needed to keep at the office I totally would do this. Nobody would touch it, so the chances of it finding feet and walking away would be minimal.

I'm pretty sure turbo mode was only meant to be disabled for compatibility with older software tied to CPU clock rate.
