Sony Developing “Counterpunch” to Xbox Game Pass for PlayStation, Claims God of War Director

Sony Interactive Entertainment is reportedly working on a new PlayStation service that can measure up to Microsoft’s wildly popular and critically praised game subscription service, Xbox Game Pass. The rumor stems from God of War and Twisted Metal director David Jaffe, who told fans this week during a YouTube broadcast that PlayStation boss Jim Ryan and other executives were definitely plotting a “counterpunch” to Xbox Game Pass. It isn’t clear how closely Sony’s upcoming service will mirror its competitor’s, however, as ongoing controversy surrounding Ryan would suggest that PlayStation hasn’t been making the best decisions for gamers as of late.
