Sony has begun winning over the hearts of PC gamers thanks to its relatively recent decision of porting some of its bigger PlayStation exclusives over to the PC platform. The company’s newfound generosity is only going to go so far, however.

In a new interview with Game Informer regarding his current role as head of PlayStation Studios, Guerrilla Games alum Hermen Hulst talked a little bit about Sony’s decision to release PlayStation games on the PC platform.

While the executive admitted that the new business plan has turned out to be a “great success,” Hulst clarified that the console versions are, unsurprisingly, still the priority in Sony’s eyes and that PC gamers shouldn’t get their hopes up about being able to enjoy PlayStation exclusives anywhere near their initial launch.

“Typically, there have been about two years between the...

Well Sony can basically piss off. If I wanted a Playstation I'd buy one. I can't remember the last time I played a game Sony had any involvement in.

As for sony they can frig right off. I'm not buying a PS game ever again. I only ever did it because I thought there was zero chance for them releasing it on PC. But if there is just 1% chance, I'm not going to waste my time with a controller. Because I freaking hate it.

After I struggled with HZD on PS4 with a controller and 30fps, only for the game to come out 3 years later on PC, I'm definitely waiting however long it takes for their new games to come out on PC. I don't usually grab consoles until the second half of their generation (usually closer to the end), so that gives me plenty of time to see if any PS5 games come to PC. Honestly I wasn't expecting Sony to release their games on PC anywhere near the launch of those games on consoles. I already figured we were gonna have to wait a couple years at least. If all goes well, I won't have to get a PS5 at all, I'll be able to play all those games on PC.

Look at it this way. We won't have to worry about cross platform play and console plebs ruining multiplayer.

Let me translate that for you:

You don't like our console? Well **** you then. We are going to make it impossible for you to enjoy big titles without buying it.

The best thing that could happen would be for Gamers to just shun any and all exclusives, but sadly that will never happen, so we allow these manipulative corporate ****s to get away with bad behavior like this.

That said, while I hate this on principle, in ~25 years of Playstation, I can't think of a single title on the platform that wasn't also available on PC that I wanted to play, so it doesn't really impact me.

...except those Katamari games. They were actually pretty fun.
