Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios executives must be having a particularly joyous holiday, as their latest Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, has managed to earn over $1 billion at the global box office.

As noted by entertainment outlets such as Deadline, this is a tremendous feat, being that the industry remains affected by the ongoing pandemic, which has prompted even some of the biggest superhero fans to stay home. What’s also notable is that Spider-Man: No Way Home managed to make $1 billion globally in just 12 days, making it the third-fastest ever to do so behind Avengers: Endgame (five days) and Avengers: Infinity War (11 days).

Huh, I guess people are going to the movie theaters in the COVID-19 era, surprisingly.

Heard good things about the movie, I'm down to see it when I get a chance. Not in theaters though. Years before COVID-19 I stopped going to theaters (although I did experiment with them again for Endgame and a few MCU movies before that).

Yep, international numbers sure, 90% China 3.5 million Thailand for some reason mentioned.
Its funny how its 'global' numbers, when most is China, its been for a while.

You are right! Didn't know China was out for now. All i was saying typically its said 'global ' numbers when china is huge % of the market, it has ben for the MCU.

Ahh, I see. I usually just check boxofficemojo for the numbers. I didn’t bother to check what about this movie the CCP might want to block this movie for, but I’m sure it’s for something stupid. Hell they already scrubbed Hong Kong media for anything they didn’t like and just took down a statue commemorating those that died in Tiananmen Square. Sry, got off topic there.
