Takashi Kiryu, President and Representative Director of Square Enix, has published a New Year's Letter to wish everyone a happy 2024, and within it is a portion that explains how the company is planning to apply AI to its future projects, and not only that, it's going to do so "aggressively."

Well, I definitely seeing AI being more helpful for the industry than NFTs. (Asset creation, texture upscaling, etc).

I'm all for using generative AI in game development. But aggressively? That means without care and attention whether it makes sense. Just like the overuse of CGI in movies.
