Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) has announced that it will be scaling back its Progress Tracker for Star Citizen following increasing complaints from players who have been angry over dropped or delayed features, having assumed that everything on the public roadmap was a “promise” by the developer—even those that had been labeled “tentative.” Calling it a “mistake” and something that has fueled “distraction” for the company, CIG has updated Star Citizen’s Progress Tracker so it no longer displays tentative features but strictly content that CIG has committed to implementing into its long-gestating project. Some fans are shocked by CIG’s attitude, as the developer has already earned over $400 million from players through crowdfunding but still isn’t sure when Star Citizen might be completed...

CIG should have scaled back the scope of this thing long before it ever made any public mention of some features that were either too difficult to implement technically or were superfluous to the overall experience. People crying about this need to understand that this project had excessive feature creep and the scope became unrealistic virtually a decade ago at this point.

If they ever want to see something resembling a complete game, everyone needs to get realistic and check their expectations.
 
Yea one of the main things I was excited about in this game in... 2013... was they were going to give you the code to run your own PU. I was going to be ALL OVER THAT...

but as time has gone on... well that is simply no longer.

as are many other promised features or goals.

Not that we will ever see a completed project.
