A Chinese user has gotten their hands on a development kit for the Steam Deck and shared how the retail versions of the portable PC might handle some of today’s most popular titles at its native resolution of 800p. According to their tests, the Steam Deck can run Cyberpunk 2077 in the High graphics preset at 20 to 30 FPS, which is arguably kind of impressive for a handheld. Valve’s Steam Deck is also purportedly capable of running Shadow of the Tomb Raider and DOOM Eternal at up to 60 FPS at lower or custom, more finely tuned settings.

At first I think - yeah that's not half bad.

Then I see ... 800p resolution and I think... well, it's not that good either.

Can games handle running at that resolution without running into issues? I thought most would target 1080 for their UI and such.
 
Not only that but the UI would also need to be designed to be viewed on a handheld.

I expect quite a few games will have a UI designed specifically for the Deck
