I read about that this morning. I was aware of non-official efforts to get it going, but I'm a bit confused why Steam is fully on board with the SteamOS "everywhere". I mean, the Steamdeck was a huge success, why would they give up that market/revenue and just give it away? Are they implementing ads or something? Or just thinking more market by having Steam store on anything (which it was anyway, but still)?

Confused but won't complain. One of my major holdups with getting a portable platform was having to deal with Windows BS and updates. I used to have a little Win 10 tablet I used for retro stuff, and it was cool, but the constant Windows updates just killed it for me.

LTT has an interesting video. Basically the work Steam is doing on their platform (the OS being an extension or the ultimate version there of..) will mean that windows gaming may get smaller. And be better for the community. They envision Steam OS desktops/laptops/handhelds. Just for gaming and light productivity work. As opposed to the design of computers for so long that have been Productivity and light gaming.
