Sylvester Stallone to Star in Sequel to 1993’s Cliffhanger

Sylvester Stallone is set to reprise his role as Ranger Gabriel "Gabe" Walker in a sequel to Renny Harlin's 1993 action thriller, Cliffhanger, Deadline and Variety have learned. Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen) will direct the new "reboot" from a script by Mark Bianculli (Hunters), and while its story remains under wraps, casting for other roles—which presumably doesn't include Sarah (Michelle Joyner) and Eric Qualen (John Lithgow)—is currently underway. The original Cliffhanger made $255 million worldwide and remains one of Stallone's fan-favorite movies.
