The Ascent’s Latest Patch Enables Ray Tracing in Xbox Game Pass Version, Adds Performance, Stability, and Gameplay Improvements

Xbox Game Pass subscribers with modern graphics cards weren’t amused when Neon Giant’s new cyberpunk action-shooter RPG The Ascent hit Microsoft’s game subscription service without key technologies such as ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS, but a new patch released by the developer today has addressed one of those oversights.



According to the patch notes published on Steam, The Ascent’s August 6th update enables ray tracing in the Xbox Game Pass version of the game, which means that NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series and AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series owners will be able to experience even greater visuals in the game courtesy of ray-traced reflections and shadows.



Neon Giant’s new patch for The Ascent also brings various performance, stability, and gameplay tweaks to the game. They include improved performance in DX12 mode, as well as improved loading of NPCs and a CPU...

I finished the game out yesterday. I am running Steam version, so it always had RT, but I didn't enable - couldn't notice any visual difference apart from the Framerate hit.

That said, singleplayer was very stable. Can't figure out how to get Network co-op to work though.
