Exciting times are ahead for data hoarders who can’t break the addiction of buying bigger and bigger drives to appease their ever-growing file collections, according to a press release shared today by Toshiba that includes a roadmap teasing what the company is planning to release in the coming years. While the roadmap relates strictly to HDDs for data centers, the timeline indicates that hard drives as massive as 40 TB might be available to consumers by 2026 thanks to some of the advancements that the company has made with its various recording technologies.
