Two Hours of Canceled GoldenEye 007 Xbox Live Arcade Remaster Gameplay Footage Leaked

Did you know that Rare was planning to release a remastered version of its iconic N64-era FPS, GoldenEye 007, for Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade? Evidently so, as a two-hour gameplay video of the canceled title made its way onto YouTube today. The video gives us a glimpse of GoldenEye 007 in the 00 Agent difficulty in 4K resolution and 60 FPS, which is certainly higher than what Nintendo’s first 3D console is capable of.



“For Your Eyes Only,” uploader Graslu00 wrote. “Footage of the cancelled GoldenEye XBLA remake from 2007, full game on 00 Agent, 4k 60FPS and thirty minutes of multiplayer games. Played on Xenia emulator to achieve a higher resolution.”

Daaaaaaaaaaaaang! I loved the Perfect Dark HD remaster for XBLA, I can't believe they were working on a similar treatment for Goldeneye 007! Pissed that this didn't come out!! Once again, licensing issues f*ck everything up. Still really wish Nightdive could finish and release modern ports of No One Lives Forever 1 and 2, but IP rights issue is a real big-@ss mess with those games.
