The USB-IF has decided to complement its faster, 240-watt charging standard for USB Type-C with a new logo program that should make it easier for consumers to determine whether a cable is officially certified to handle the connector’s new peak power delivery. They seem pretty straightforward: users who want to take advantage of USB4 40 Gbps speeds and/or USB Type-C 60-watt/240-watt charging can simply assess the packaging for the relevant logo. Likewise, chargers that are certified for the new power delivery specification can be identified with a unique logo.
