Those of you who rely on USB-C ports for display output will be pleased to know that VESA has updated its DisplayPort Alt Mode to meet the specifications of DisplayPort 2.0. This means that future devices will be capable of transmitting up to 80 Gbps of video data over USB Type-C, enabling resolutions beyond 8K, as well as higher refresh rates and high dynamic range (HDR) support at higher resolutions.
