Warner Bros.’ latest Batman film will be available to watch exclusively in cinemas when it debuts next year on March 4, 2022, but it turns out that fans of the caped crusader who’d prefer to check out Matt Reeves’ take on the iconic character at home won’t have too long of a wait ahead of them.
That’s according to WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar, who recently spoke on Cox’s Recode podcast and revealed that The Batman will make its way onto his company’s streaming service, HBO Max, on April 19, 2022. This is just 46 days after the film’s theatrical debut.
“Think about when movies would show up on HBO, which is eight to nine months after theatrical premiere,” Kilar said before confirming the date. “The Batman is going to show up on day 46 on HBO Max. That is a huge change from where things were in 2018, 2017, 2016.”
