Microsoft has added over 70 Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to its growing backward compatibility catalog in celebration of the brand’s 20th anniversary. They include the entire Max Payne series and the F.E.A.R. franchise, as well as hugely underrated exclusives such as FromSoftware’s Otogi: Myth of Demons and Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors. Many of these titles will be available for purchase via the Microsoft Store later today.

Celebrate 20 years by playing 20 year old games!

Yea I don't get that. I would say.. "We've released a MASSIVE batch of Xbox 1x's to our vendors at MSRP for in store sales only! GOOD LUCK AND GO GET ONE!"

But I still can't play my original Xbox copy of MK: Shaolin Monks on XB1 or after. And X360 games like Afterburner Climax and OutRun Online still aren't playable on newer Xboxes either. Microsoft has been doing some good-@ss work with their back-compat shiznit, but they still haven't covered a lot. I do realize it's a ton of work to do this though. In any case, back-compat means a lot less to me because I keep all my consoles. However, I do care about playing original Xbox games on newer Xbox consoles because my sister and her husband lost my original Xbox after I let them borrow it for years, so that's a system I no longer have. Luckily most of my original Xbox games can be played on XB1 and after, such as Panzer Dragon Orta.

Man they almost sold another Xb1x. Imagine if they had cpatibiliry for the original guitar hero games and another set of controllers for it. THAT would have me re try an Xbox brand console.
