Bloomberg shared a report in December claiming that PlayStation executives were planning a new service code-named “Spartacus” to take on Xbox Game Pass, one that would allow PlayStation owners to pay a monthly fee to access a catalog of not only modern games but classic titles from the PS1, PS2, PS3, and Vita generations.



One person that doesn’t seem shocked by the news is Microsoft’s own head of Xbox, Phil Spencer. The outspoken executive made that clear in a recent interview with IGN this week, during which he called Sony’s rumored service “the right answer.” While the executive didn’t go so far as to suggest that PlayStation was merely copying Xbox’s playbook, Spencer did explain why he thought services such as Game Pass make sense and were appealing to modern gamers.

Was this quote before or after MS bought Activision/Blizzard/King for 69 BILLION dollars. MS looks to be locking up market exclusives, anything it takes at any price.
 
It's the right answer because this way we get revenue from those numbsculls whether we sell them something new or not! :p

What Epic can do we can do better.
 
I just don't want Sony to make some knee jerk reaction and do something stupid, like buy EA.
 
We need government regulation preventing any and all lock-ins, lock-outs or exclusives, be it by platform, by storefront, or by geographic area.

Not just for games, but also for video content, music,... heck, expand it to every last industry in existence.

I think we are seeing the abuse clearly now, and seeing how this is harmful to the consumer, and that it needs to end.
