Microsoft’s weaker and cheaper next-generation Xbox, the Xbox Series S, turned out to be the best-selling console during this year’s Black Friday event. One of the biggest reasons why it sold so well yesterday was simply down to availability; according to coverage from Business Insider, alternatives such as the Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Switch OLED model were impossible to find. The sales data stems from the Adobe Digital Economy Index.

Still waiting to find a series X but given that there are approx half as much Xboxes made then PS5's that's unlikely to change anytime soon.

MS realy dropped the ball here, with their deep pockets they could have owned the console market by now instead they will lose once again. At this point one can start thinking to hold off for the mid cycle refresh assuming they do this.
 
Maybe because it’s the only thing you can buy?

Probably a lot of truth to that - however the more Series S Microsoft sell, means there are more users involved in their Game Pass ecosystem, so it'd still be a win for MS.
