There was a bit of controversy around the time of the Xbox Series X’s release when gamers learned that Microsoft’s next-gen console, which was (and continues to be) heavily advertised as the most powerful gaming system ever, only featured a 1080p dashboard. Xbox fans were taken by surprise because that seemed like a poor match for modern TVs, practically all of which leverage 4K panels.
The Xbox Series X’s relatively low-resolution dashboard will soon be a thing of the past, however. Microsoft has revealed that it is working on a new user interface with an increased resolution that will take better advantage of 4K displays.
This has been confirmed in the release notes for the latest Xbox Update Preview in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, which notes that insiders can begin testing it today as part of a new update that also introduces system fixes.
