YouTube TV Lowers Monthly Price after Losing ESPN, ABC, and Other Disney Channels

YouTube TV has lost most of its relevance for fans of ESPN, ABC, and other Disney-owned networks, as the service has stopped offering these channels.



Google shared a post yesterday confirming the news, which explains that it failed to “reach an equitable agreement” with Disney to retain various channels that also include FX and National Geographic. The good news is that YouTube TV is reducing its monthly price as a result by $15; the new price is $49.99 for the Base Plan.

We will be decreasing our monthly price by $15, from $64.99 to $49.99, for the Base Plan while this content remains off of our platform. No action is needed on your part. I cancelled my TV subscription when they removed a bunch of channels I was regularly watching. They offered a discount, but I turned it down, and switched to another provider that ended up being cheaper and still offering the channels the other provider claimed had ceased broadcasting.
 
I'm ok with my hodge podge of random streaming providers right now. I feel no need to add anything additional to my services.
 
Well... YouTube has also thrown their lot with big media. Lets see how that works out long term. Big media doesn't need Google... But I think Google thinks they do . I mean the whole point of YouTube was to run away from big media. Good luck YouTube good luck with TV and your big media fluffing move.
