Resizable BAR Improves Minimum Frame Rate by Stunning Amount in AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Benchmark

AMD’s Smart Access Memory benchmarks have alluded to some arguably negligible gains in game performance, but the technology behind it, Resizable BAR, appears to contain some interesting surprises. Japanese hardware site ASCII.jp (via VideoCardz) recently tested an ASUS ROG Maximum XII Extreme/Intel Core i9-10900K/AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT system with the feature enabled and discovered a massive, 182 percent increase in minimum frame rate performance for Red Dead Redemption 2 in 1080p.

You should be slapped if you are using a 6800 XT at 1080.
Nice conversation but really?
Use a real monitor.
 
I'd love to see the impact at higher resolutions where more of the video memory is consumed just to play the game.

Agreed.

This is not the card for 1080p play.

It would be nice to see some relevant resolutions to see if this effect still holds.

Unfortunately though there are a lot of idiots out there who think they are at a competitive disadvantage unless they max out the refresh of their monitor all the time, and they sell 320hz 1080p screens now...
