Intel's Tiger Lake-U chips could offer a significant performance boost over the current Ice Lake generation.

Benchmarks for a 15 W 4C/8T model (and its 28 W variant) have been spotted on Chinese Q&A website Zhihu.

In one impressive test, the 15 W Tiger Lake-U chip scored around 26% faster than Intel's Core i7-1065G7 (a 4C/8T Ice Lake-U part with a TDP of 15 W), while the 28 W version scored a whopping 60% faster.

The CPU reportedly features a single-core boost of 4.3 GHz and multi-core boost of 4 GHz.

Intel Tiger Lake processors are expected to arrive in 2020 and will feature some new changes to the architecture. First up, they will have the new Willow Cove cores replacing Sunny Cove cores which are currently featured on Ice Lake processors. Along with the new cores, we will get cache redesigns as stated above, new transistor-level optimizations and enhanced security features.

Yea... because those security patches probably slow down the previous generation 50%

Same, but if it holds, it will be nice to see Intel back in the game.
That's assuming this is true, Intel can put them out in volume and AMD doesn't have something similar or better.

On one test...
Can't complain about AMD...
Got a laptop for 329 (which was later 297 oh well) Ryzen 5 2500u Vega 8 graphics, 8gb memory 256ssd, 15 inch screen.
It zips right along for daily tasks.. and this is first gen ryzen.. we will see when those ryzen 2 apu come to market..

Excellent point, I expect AMD to continue executing with Zen 3 as I do not foresee any issues with TSMC barring a natural disaster that will incapacitate their capability. It be nice to see if Intel can actually get their act together and move forward after floundering around for almost 4 years.

Intel hasn't truly felt the pain yet. We haven't seen postings about Intel having layoffs or anything of the like. Financially they are doing just fine and if they can dethrone AMD and hold it they will go right back to what they were doing with minimal gain for maximum dollar.

They just had a pretty big layoff in April, sold their 5G division, and recently announced a smaller layoff in the new GPU division
