Huh... i mean I am not surprised. One reason mac OS has been solid for so long is lack of older hardware support.
 
285K hackintoshes are pretty good for productivity. Apple needs to ink a deal with Intel to sell those as Mac Pros with upgradable dGPUs, RAM and SSD storage. Intel gets a lifeline. Mac users get probably cheaper multicore productivity machines and access to non-Apple GPUs. Apple can then price their silicon a little higher for the people with fat pockets. I don't see how it could not work, unless Apple has x86 hating engineers and executives.

Yea... you think apple really wants to be responsible for drivers for all sorts of GPU's, and other peripherals that don't pay a hefty licensing fee to Apple?

Agreed... Intel support from Apple is about to be dead.. The hackintosh community will try to piece-meal things along for as long as they can but inevitably it will die off.
