An overseas reviewer has posted the first images of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition and shared that reviews will go live on January 29. Additionally, it's been confirmed that the 12VHPWR power connector has been upgraded to a 12V-2x6 and includes a 3x 8-pin adapter enabling up to 450W of power delivery to the card.

Not new, it's 12V-2×6, and it's not perfect. I however, do not know what the failure rate is on it, and how many if any have been reported melting. Still has the inherent issue of lower tolerances than traditional 8-pin cables.

Hey we have an intolerant president in the US, might as well have intolerant connectors. ;) sorry couldn't resist.

Might be cheaper for Europeans to buy the card in the US, though it would suck if they had to be returned there for RMA in case there is an issue

Not necessarily. We still don't know how the tariff pissing contest is going to play out.

While that is true, there are already some leaked prices with some 5080's going for well over 2.000€

Truly sorry for that. It sucks plain and simple. I don't think the 5080 is worth that in any fashion.

Edit: We haven't done a post on it but there was news recently about NVIDIA limiting stock in order to various outlets in order to curb scalping but it also mentioned how this could lead to some resellers raising their prices. This is probably a symptom of that. Hopefully, those in the EU will be able to source from more respectable sellers than this one. For us in the U.S we're mainly limited to B&H, BB, and MC which might sound good but in reality, you have to be able to live near an MC or BB that gets stock (I don't re: MC, and the local BBs are about useless for new PC hardware) or wait for the near-never moment B&H gets it.) I've been trying to buy from B&H since the 30 series launch and it usually takes a year or more before that can happen and by then I'm no longer interested.

Yeah the stores are bad too, I see intel B580's beeing sold around the 400€ mark, they started at 329€ which was already a lot for those but apparently it sells good enough to increase the price some more, same for the 9800X3D it's also 100€ or more over MSRP.

Your mc is way different than ours. Ours has tons of stock even has 9800x3d cpus in stock.
I go by Denver's since it is the closest at 6 hours away. Its stock has been pretty good but still doesn't compare to those on the East Coast. However, local BB stock for just about any premium PC in NM is about useless for the first year or two, or more. BB corporate really gives us the middle finger for various stuff and has for about a decade now, I could say more but I won't as I'm not the only one who has noticed.
