It's not going to help for most situations... it's inside your computer... installed in an M2 slot... probably under a heat shield. If someone is breaking into your home to steal data... are you going to be present and have the presence of mind to go and hold down the self destruct button on your SSD while it's in the case and powered on?
This will be really dependent on the scenario's you can set for your drive in your system.
Why the Eff they included 'gamer' in the target market I have no idea. Honestly they should have just said "For those that keep content they absolutely don't want anyone else to see" Legally Lawyers, spouses writing up divorce papers, secure environments working from home, stuff like that sure. The other market.. Paranoid Pirates, and lets be very real... pedo content collectors/creators. And honestly... I would rather just trigger a self destruct of all drives with that ****.
Pre programmed data destruction for drones and corporate laptops or data transport... makes perfect sense. Nothing says data security like destroyed media.
