The Death Stranding creator wants to go to space to make games, but is also unhappy with the current state of big-budget games.

Yupz.He just makes things different for the sake of being different not for the sake of being better.
He's like George Lucas., Great vision.... no so great on execution if left to his own devices. Lucas makes great stories but needs a solid director to translate them to a good movie. He just makes things different for the sake of being different not for the sake of being better.
I'll take a proven formula over kojima's any day. Death Stranding could've been good if it had proven mechanics instead of "Oh, I'm so edgy and unique".
He is the modern artist equivalent of gaming. If he pulled a dingleberry from the hairs of his backside and smeared it on a disc, it would still be lauded as high-art by his sycophants .
100% thing is sales for Madden and COD sadly remain proof positive of the validity of the strategy. I mean everyone seems to just say yes please! To COD seemingly without thought, I guess Madden too. He's not wrong... too many copy cat clones of whatever just recently got hot. I can't even begin to count the trends, and most of them are just filled with garbage. A result of corporate money wanting to chase "safe" investments, not fund anything groundbreaking or innovative. And the more ambitous (expensive) the project, the more risk averse they become. So you get the annual Madden and Call of Duty and chasing whatever the hot Flavor of the Month is.
Also, he should absolutely go to space.
