EA Is Reportedly to Be Sold in a Deal Worth $50 Billion; an Official Announcement Could Happen as Soon as Next Week

Hey, folks, just a reminder, and I know it'll be difficult due to the entities involved in this story, to keep politics out and stick to the tech/gaming side of it. I deliberately avoided certain details in the post for this reason.
 
I thought i heard that the buyers are looking to make EA private. Meaning in reality re stage it for a future IPO.
 
Why would anyone buy it though?
50 billion buys you what? 500 100million games? Idk
 
I'll just say EA has been fishing for a buyer for a long time.
When you can't even get Microsoft to buy your studio... this is who you get.
 
Ea has published 300games per a quick search, doesnt meant they own all of them either.
50billion sounds absurd to me, i know its not like the just pile up 50billion in a bag and such but still.. I cant help but wonder what can be achieved with what is effectiveky endless money, meh, perhaps endless garbage... No guarantees by buying a company either .
