Windows 10 is far from a good OS, it's just the lesser of two evils. The last good windows was 7, some say XP even.
  2. Star Wars Outlaws Reveals Post-Launch Roadmap, including New Story Content with Lando Calrissian

Commence the key jangling. They are also paying 20k and all inclusive trips for influencers to disneyland to promote the game. Quadruple A failure.
  3. Half-Life 3 Rumors Swirl as Voice Actor Reveals “Project White Sands,” a New Game in Development at Valve

Even HL2 is 20 years old now, that means there are a bunch of gamers out there who wasn't even born when HL2 came out. Think about that. That also means whatever they do will probably stand on its own and you won't need to be aware of the story from the old games to be able to play it.
  4. Half-Life 3 Rumors Swirl as Voice Actor Reveals “Project White Sands,” a New Game in Development at Valve

Even if it turns out to be true I'd not get excited for it at this stage, I was over Half-Life 15 years ago.
  5. NZXT’s PC Subscription Service Has Been a “Godsend,” Customers Say

Paying in installments was always an option. This is just for fools who can't be bothered to do the math. Which is probably 90% of US citizens, who are terrible with money anyway. They always complain they can't make ends meet from multiple times the money I get to spend while many things cost...
  6. Next Battlefield Is EA’s “Most Ambitious” Project Ever, CEO Reveals

People don't identify with superficial things like skin color or gender, they identify with noble goals and struggles of the characters. If identifying with characters worked that way I'd have to love all games with a white male protagonist, and unable to identify with different heroes, which...
  7. Next Battlefield Is EA’s “Most Ambitious” Project Ever, CEO Reveals

When some dev says the game is super ambitious nowadays you never know if they mean the political messaging, or something that is actually a selling point.
  8. “The Forever Mouse”: Logitech Mulls New Series of Mice with Subscription Fees

Subscription based "live" services by definition don't last forever. They only last while they are beneficial for the company.
  9. “Giga-Tarded”: EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 Launches with a Mostly Negative Rating on Steam as Players Learn They Need an Epic Games Account for Onlin...

I can't believe some people still unironically use the "if you aren't doing anything illegal, you don't need privacy" argument. Besides this is not about privacy, but convenience. If your game is on steam it shouldn't require any other account on top of a steam account. A game sold on GOG...

This is a no-win situation for them. AI generated voices makes most of VO jobs obsolete.
  11. “People Might Be a Little Disappointed”: Ex-Rockstar Dev Shares His Thoughts on Grand Theft Auto VI

I go through the same process, most of the time I can assess whether I want a game this way, but there are 1% of cases where I'm still on the fence after all that. Case in point Baldur's Gate 3. I'm not confident enough that I'm going to like it to buy it, if there was a demo I could put it to...
  12. “Death of Storytelling”: Logan Director James Mangold Criticizes Cinematic Multiverses

That's not really the issue. If death is no longer permanent, there are no real stakes for dying either. It makes every risk meaningless, which they already do by having characters survive things without a scratch that should easily kill them. And this is not even only about superheroes, but...
  13. “People Might Be a Little Disappointed”: Ex-Rockstar Dev Shares His Thoughts on Grand Theft Auto VI

I agree with all of that, the reason I brought it up is that if they count every pirated copy as a lost sale, then they definitely should count every downvote as a lost sale also. But for some reason that much more obvious leap of logic is never made.
  14. “People Might Be a Little Disappointed”: Ex-Rockstar Dev Shares His Thoughts on Grand Theft Auto VI

I'm with you about GTA V not being that great, I played every GTA tons up till that one since GTA3. GTAV however was a one and done, meaning I've done the main story once then forgot about the game. Low expectations are only key to not being disappointed. However a bad game is a bad game...
  15. “People Might Be a Little Disappointed”: Ex-Rockstar Dev Shares His Thoughts on Grand Theft Auto VI

IV was also a drastic change. The tone shifted from light hearted comedy to serious. They removed the fun from GTA. I actually wish it would go back to being fun, but I won't be disappointed because i don't have very high expectations.
  16. Blizzard Has All But Banned Generative AI Use unlike Activision, Sources Say in Report About How AI Is Taking Jobs in the Game Industry

Reading more than the headline helps too. They completely banned generative AI, Their own tools might not even be generative AI, as it is not specified what kind of AI they are developing internally. Even if it is generative its probably purpose built for specific tasks and not universal.
  17. Blizzard Has All But Banned Generative AI Use unlike Activision, Sources Say in Report About How AI Is Taking Jobs in the Game Industry

Why are there no reasonable people anymore? Why does everyone have to take one of the most extreme positions? Guess using AI where it is appropriate and applicable is not an option? Either total ban or it is flowing from the taps?
  18. “Biggest Marketing Campaign Ever”: Ubisoft Spares No Expense on Star Wars Outlaws

How about, IDK spending the money on making a good game, instead of trying to compensate with marketing? Because Outlaws seems like generic, bland minimum effort slop. Made by people with no passion or enthusiasm.
