Star Wars Outlaws, the new action-adventure game from Massive Entertainment that will be the franchise's very first to allow players to explore an open world, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), is expected to receive heavy marketing ahead of its release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC on August 30, 2024, according to new comments that Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's CEO, has shared in an earnings call.

I seem to recall several other Star Wars branded games that spared no expenses on marketing either, and ... didn't live up to the hype.

Like.. pretty much any of them with any marketing budget at all, to be honest. But SWTOR comes to mind immediately.
 
How about, IDK spending the money on making a good game, instead of trying to compensate with marketing?

Because Outlaws seems like generic, bland minimum effort slop. Made by people with no passion or enthusiasm.
