  1. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Image Quality on PlayStation 5 Pro Is Reportedly a “Night and Day” Difference

Every example video from the PS5 Pro so far looks identical to the original PS5... I'm sure it's just compression and it all looks totally smokin' in real life ...
  2. PSA: “PS5 Pro Enhanced” Games May Only Run at 30 FPS

For the CPU here it’s almost certainly some compatibility thing. They did something similar with the PS4 Pro
  3. PS5 Pro Speculated to Perform Like $449 AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT “at Best” Due to Lack of Infinity Cache

Yeah, all the more to my point. GPU tech has just gotten expensive no matter how you package it.
  4. Steam Families Arrives as a Replacement for Steam Family Sharing, but Users Should Be Cautious of Who They Invite

I like the idea of Steam Sharing, but what always hung me up - it wouldn't work if the "Owner" account was playing any game in their Steam library. I could get not wanting 2 people playing the same game at the same time. But if my wife is playing Peggle and I want to try out her copy of Star...
  5. Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro 75% Is a Wireless, Hot-Swappable Gaming Keyboard with Built-In OLED Display and up to 40,000 Hz Polling Rate

Some of us are really fast typers. 40,000Hz may not be enough to keep up. I need to look into active cooling on my keys
  6. PS5 Pro Speculated to Perform Like $449 AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT “at Best” Due to Lack of Infinity Cache

Well... given that the 7700XT is just a GPU and needs other stuff, like a CPU, PSU, drive, and such to run... Maybe $700 isn't that bad of an all-in price.
  7. Intel 13th/14th Gen RMA question/advice

I guess the worst thing that could happen would be that they pull an Asus and just refuse your RMA and hold your item hostage until you front them return shipping. Seems kinda silly to me, I mean, are they just trying to get a free pull at the sillicon lotto?
  8. Microsoft Lays Off Hundreds of Additional Staff from Gaming Business; Clarifies No Games or Consoles Have Been Canceled

Well, I don’t think anyone would cry if they canceled the S. Hate to see the jobs go though More reduction of redundancy with all the recent acquisitions I bet
  9. AMD Says It Will No Longer Go after the Flagship Gaming GPU Market as NVIDIA Continues to Dominate with 88% Market Share

Not privy to the balance sheet to know if they are losing money with high end GPUs or not - so you may very well be right. But I suspect it's more due to a reallocation of limited resources - they want those people who were doing the big GPU designs to focus on AI products now.
  10. PS5 Pro’s $700 Pricing Blamed on “Lack of Competition” as Polls Suggest Most Players Won’t Be Buying Sony’s New System

One of two things will happen here: People will get over the price. Scalpers scoop these things up, and we see them selling on ebay for $1500+ anyway amid "scarcity". I mean, this is what has happened with almost every nVidia release for the past few generations. But if by the time Black...
  11. Xbox Game Pass Standard Is Now Available for Players Who Don’t Care about Starfield, Diablo IV, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and Other Major...

All of the filler games that bloat the library, and nothing you’d actually like to play - at a price that could buy you any of those filler games outright anyway! Almost as good of a deal as the PS5 Pro
  12. AMD Says It Will No Longer Go after the Flagship Gaming GPU Market as NVIDIA Continues to Dominate with 88% Market Share

Nah - nVidia has been able to outsell in markets even when their products were slower. The old “drivers” Or “raytracing performance matters” Or “gsync” Or “physx performance” Or … name whatever it was that generation NVidia has amazing marketing
  13. Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Newest Feature Was Inspired by Mass Effect Legendary Edition, BioWare Says

It's for when you make your LGBTBBQ+ dragon/dwarf couple kiss following the canned and extremely obviously scripted "love interest" quest line.
  14. Corsair Updates RMx Series Low-Noise PSUs with ATX 3.1 Compliance and Native ATX 12V-2×6 Connector

I never had any issues with the ones I purchased either. I didn't own an RM series. But they were a bulletproof brand for a long time. You could count on every model going into a review and crushing it. Until that RM series kinda choked. Then they were just mere mortals again - like almost...
  15. GameStop is offering up to near full price trade-in credit for Xbox Series S

Are these getting used in AI crypto mining farms now or something?
  16. Corsair Updates RMx Series Low-Noise PSUs with ATX 3.1 Compliance and Native ATX 12V-2×6 Connector

The original RM series was the one that shook my confidence in Corsair PSUs. They used to be my “didn’t need to wait for the review” brand. Not after that. Hello Seasonic
  17. Analyst Predicts PS5 Pro Will Sell at PS4 Pro Levels as Players Criticize System’s “Crazy” $700 Price and “Hope to God” Microsoft Remains...

Similar situation where I live - small tourist mountain town in CA Many of the folks that work here live out in camper trailers or ex-fishing shacks. Or they have to drive 50+ miles from the nearest major town - and gas out here really isn’t cheap. I just filled up today at $6.0009 And...
  18. Analyst Predicts PS5 Pro Will Sell at PS4 Pro Levels as Players Criticize System’s “Crazy” $700 Price and “Hope to God” Microsoft Remains...

The price doesn’t hang me up. The fact that it has absolutely no purpose right now does. They should have shipped a few games with enhanced modes to show it off. Instead we get … well it plays all the same stuff with the same graphics, just better fps. Go buy it please.
