  1. AMD AGESA 1.0.0.4B: Up to 20% Faster Boot Times, Per-CCX Overclocking, Higher Boosting, and More

For the older chipset boards Loosing pcie 4 was a letdown -> had no issue with it. Per CCX should allow better OCing potential pushing each CCX to the max. Faster boot times to me is a very minor upgrade, nice if you constantly reboot, shutdown etc. I don’t.
  2. AMD Radeon RX 5300 XT, B550A Chipset Headed to HP Desktops in October

So OEMs will get first dibs on B550 which makes sense. RX 5300 and then call it XT? lol. Anyways begs the question 5400 XT, 5500 XT, 5600 XT and then non XT's? PCIe 3 for B550 if the norm is a letdown. Mainly for SSD's, iTX with a very fast PCIe 4 SSD would be very nice.
  3. ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi X570 Motherboard Review

The safe boot switch on ASUS upper range motherboards is worth it's weight in gold. The Gigabyte Master and this Board really makes it hard to decide which one one would want. For me the board you dreaded it seems, which I did not expect would work well, is doing well with a 3900x (CrossHair 6...
  4. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER FE Overclocking

NVidia did a great job with their reference models, almost too good for the AIB makers to give a significant advantage. So buying direct from NVidia for $499 seems the most prudent buy that is when they are in stock. A custom fan curve over stock of around 20%. Max the power limit, memOC, seems...
  5. NVIDIA’s Gamescom Driver Improves Performance by Up to 23%, Brings New Features

Wow! Reminds me of the nForce drivers that made the GF2 scream and put the original Radeon 64 back in second place. I will be very interested seeing if the numbers actually pan out and not just off the wall best case scenario.
  6. Potential 3rd Gen Ryzen Threadripper Scores Appear on Geekbench

With high core count/threads CPU, I would rather have better multi-threading which 35% seems good. I am wondering the new cost on these, chipset and motherboards. Would like to get one.
  7. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Review New BIOS Performance Tested

Your welcome, now I do not like the idea that I will be loosing PCIe 4 which at least works without issue for the 5700 XT on the next AGESA. Most likely I would have bought a PCIe 4 SSD. So far my experience is way beyond what I expected in a good way and I expected I would need a X570 board...
  8. AMD Completes 7 Nm+ Zen 3 for Potential 2020 Release, Zen 4 on Track for 2021

That was the best presentation I've seen from AMD, some real heavy weights getting behind AMD. Will be a very interesting next couple of years.
  9. AMD Adds Clarification to "Max Boost Clocks" on Ryzen Product Pages

I've seen random 4.63ghz basic desktop, something like CineBench single 4.52 and that is it. What is funny is I get lower boost clocks if I select AutoOC in Ryzen Master - when everything is default it works best. All core when using multithreading in Cinebench is around 4.1ghz. Which to push...
  10. Blender now with RTX support!

    Good stuff! Thanks
  11. MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE Motherboard Review

Very nice review! Board is GODLIKE, take some Gold to buy unfortunately. Only fault I can find from the article is the small number of USBs on the back. Vive + 2 mouse + Camera + Keyboard + Mic + USB Stick + Keyboard USB Hub + Monitor Hub - in other words not really enough. I can combine or use...
  12. Wolfenstein: Youngblood Performance Review

Nice review, bought from steam, it would not run after spending over an hour going through all their troubleshooting and just decided to get a refund and be done with it. The reviews are more negative than positive overall. That was last week, maybe the new driver 19.7.5 corrected it, I don't...
  13. Blender now with RTX support!

Quality, speeds etc.? This would be a much greater reason to buy a RTX card vice just gaming. Hopefully other programs adopt using RTX.
  14. Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Cooler Review

For such a cheap cooler the results look rather spectacular. This will be a good baseline for other cooler to justify a higher price tag. Enjoyed this review even though I am not looking for a cooler. As a thought comparing it to a stock AMD Wrath Prism Cooler on the Ryzen 3's could help others...
  15. Ryzen Master, 3900x, I don't know where to start on this . . .

Thanks, but this issue was from boot to boot into the bios never hitting the OS in-between - it was like an unwritten law was shattered in that the bios did not control the motherboard hardware any longer. I don't see this as being a big issue, just the one other case I came across by accident...
  16. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Review New BIOS Performance Tested

Something else unique to the ASUS C8H is it is a 8 layer board which could potentially give better signalling to the ram slots as well as PCIe slots. It will be interesting how the 6 layer boards like the Gigabyte Master does with ram speeds not only two slots but all four. I may get a new...
  17. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Review New BIOS Performance Tested

They lied! :) Thank God. ASUS just release a kick *** bios is probably the answer and really all the memory stuff is on the CPU which determines capability as long as signalling to the dims are good - why not? On the 2700 My top stable was 3200mhz, not much higher than 2933 in what AMD said...
  18. 5700XT 50th edition

Been gaming using pcie 4 on an ASUS X370 Crosshair 6 Hero motherboard. No issues, crashes etc. So far it has just been a very solid card. 3DMark PCIe Express test for PCIe 4 is 25.19GB/S: http://www.3dmark.com/pcie/26830 I did some test comparing PCIe 4 to PCIe 3 - gaming test -> no difference...
  19. AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 Video Card Review

Nvidia will probably figure out a way for us to use a second GPU - maybe for ray-tracing support ;) to fill up those poor empty pcie slots.
  20. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Review New BIOS Performance Tested

The newest bios 7302 for the C6H, what a night and day difference! 3900x, 4 dims GSkill 3200 CAS 14 (BDie) running at 3733, passed MemTest Pro for over 500% test run, cold boot problem is also solved for higher ram speeds. A very happy camper so to speak. Looks like AMD 4 dim configuration...
