Rocksteady Studios Teaming with Sony for New Batman Game, It’s Claimed

After the craptastic Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game, I don't think the studio has it in them to do a decent follow up to that series.

“Startlingly Dull”: Critics Are Divided on Joker: Folie à Deux

I lost interest at the pretentious title.

Sony Cuts the Cord on Concord Just 12 Days after Disastrous Launch: Game Goes Offline This Week, with Refunds Being Issued to Players

Not Sony apparently. I can help predict failures before they happen. Their next game, "Fairgames" may do even worse. They need to shut that pile of **** down before they tarnish the Playstation brand anymore. The only people who are going to make money on that dumpster fire will be the...

Anandtech Sails Off Into the Sunset

Even some of the ones that are still around aren't the same. That includes Tom's and PC Perspective.

Half-Life 2 RTX Gets One-Hour Gameplay Video from Gamescom 2024 and Nova Prospekt Trailer from NVIDIA

In this case maybe. But with Quake / Quake II RTX, the game is largely unchanged. They just added ray tracing and that's it. Half-Life 2 RTX looks quite a bit better as a result of larger changes.

Anandtech Sails Off Into the Sunset

As David said earlier, Anandtech hasn't been the same in about a decade. This is when Anand retired and it was purchased by the same media company that owns Tom's Hardware.

LG Display Begins Mass Production of 27″ 480 Hz QHD Gaming OLED Panel

Since 2015, I've used a 48" and a 49" Samsung TV and an Alienware 34" prior to the Acer 43" CG437KP I use currently. Prior to that I was using 3x30" Dell 3007WFP-HC's. I got my first 30" in 2007 or 2008. I've been using larger displays for almost a decade. Dropping to 27" doesn't appeal what so...

Squirrel with a Gun Launches with a Higher Peak Player Count than Concord on Steam

This is probably the first indie title I've ever seen that actually looked like it was worth playing.

Half-Life 2 RTX Gets One-Hour Gameplay Video from Gamescom 2024 and Nova Prospekt Trailer from NVIDIA

Only analogy I can think of that fits this kind of stuff. I'd call it turd polishing but these games weren't turds. They are just primitive graphically and sometimes from a gameplay perspective.

LG Display Begins Mass Production of 27″ 480 Hz QHD Gaming OLED Panel

I just can't get excited for anything display under 32".

AMD-Specific Branch Prediction Code for Improving Performance of Zen 3, Zen 4, and Zen 5 Ryzen Processors Arrives Early with Windows 11 23H2 Update

Microsoft isn't going to do anything for people running Windows 10. They don't want you to continue to use that.

Half-Life 2 RTX Gets One-Hour Gameplay Video from Gamescom 2024 and Nova Prospekt Trailer from NVIDIA

Why would you bother putting ray tracing on 20-30 year old games? Again, its like putting brand new fake tits on a 90 year old woman. New tits might look ok and all but she's still wearing depends and putting her teeth in a jar every night. What's the point? Part of the game looks new, the rest...

“Disastrous”: The Crow Reboot Falls Out of the Sky with $4.6 Million Opening

After watching the Critical Drinker's review of it, I'm not surprised. Its a very different movie that missed the point of the original and got just about everything wrong.

Avowed Developer Says Its Team Targeted Lower FPS Early On for Xbox, “You Don’t Necessarily Need That 60 Frames”

Fair enough I suppose, but its always disappointing when game developers target 30FPS. 60FPS+ provides a much better gaming experience.

SPINE Is a Cinematic Cyberpunk Gun-Fu Action Game Built on Unreal Engine 5, Featuring NVIDIA DLSS 3 and Music from John Wick Composer Le Castle Vania

I'm underwhelmed as well. The game looks pretty generic in terms of atmosphere, graphics, and gameplay.

Microsoft Says the End Is Nigh for Control Panel, Nearly 40 Years After Its Introduction

Windows used to be so easy to use once you learned the basics of how it worked. Everything after Windows XP has had an increasingly worse interface little by little. Simple things that could be done in one or two clicks are now buried in submenus that aren't exactly intuitive to reach or are...

Paramount Pictures Shuts Down Television Arm amid Plan to Lay Off 15% of Its U.S. Staff

That's probably the only unfortunate casualty of that mess. I mean, SNW has decent episodes but I'm not convinced its worth saving either. It's also likely that S3 of SNW and Lower Decks Season 5 are already done. LD is confirmed to be on its final season. SNW and Reacher are at least...
