Database design optimization - MariaDB (MySQL)

I wouldn't even know where to look, what to look for or understand what it tells me. Haha. Everything I've learned so far, or rather got accomplished so far has been with AI. I tried using an "optimizer" tool only for it to basically tell me I need to switch all the tables to InnoDB which is...

Database design optimization - MariaDB (MySQL)

It does use indexing. I inherited this database/setup from someone who got tired of maintaining it. I'm also far from a "database guy" and have learned everything I know so far using AI. I don't know if it's doing full table scans. How can I figure that out?

Database design optimization - MariaDB (MySQL)

So I run a decent sized database setup. This database collects Distributed Computing "credits" and other metrics revolving around Distributed Computing projects. It's quick, but I think it can be faster, maybe. So here's what I know about it. Its 3 databases that stores all the information...

Intel Files Patent For Software-Defined Super Cores, Allowing 2 or More Cores to Function as One

Man so many DBA experts here. I need to start a thread so I can pick all of your brains on optimizing my database!

Intel Files Patent For Software-Defined Super Cores, Allowing 2 or More Cores to Function as One

I've tried to update mine, but it got way, way worse performance. I had to move it back to MYISAM. InnoDB was 3x slower even when I tried implementing parallel processing.

Intel Files Patent For Software-Defined Super Cores, Allowing 2 or More Cores to Function as One

Not all MySQL queries can be parralled to decrease execution time. Some things have to go in a specific order 1 at a time. If this can make the "single core" performance of that accelerate then I'm very interested.

    DC Team

I'd like to suggest that instead of switching teams entirely, we could simply rebrand our current team name to 'The FPS' across all active projects. This approach would create a smooth, seamless transition for everyone since no one would need to worry about remembering to update their team...

    DDR5 Server RAM

I don't think that's the kind of money he wants to spend lol He's looking for $50 - $75 16GB DIMMs of that type/speed. I think.

AMD Could Be Prepping a Flagship Next-Gen GPU Featuring 96 Compute Units with Memory on a 512-Bit Bus

Yes you are right. That's why I put what I did in parenthesis. However, that gamble, for all intents and purposes, is how industries grow and innovate. AMD couldn't beat Intel at their own game/plan. So they went a different direction so to speak. They'll have to do the same with Nvidia.

AMD Could Be Prepping a Flagship Next-Gen GPU Featuring 96 Compute Units with Memory on a 512-Bit Bus

Yeah, Intel was once a Goliath compared to their CPU market share, too. (Well technically Intel is still a Goliath, just a not as big as it was ~7 years ago)

Hold shift + ctrl and scroll up (or down) with your mouse wheel. You can set thefps back to 100% (or whatever you want) and it wont effect other sites you visit.

ULTRARAM, a Technology That Aims to Bridge the Gap Between DRAM and NAND, Makes Another Step to Volume Production

I think the only reason the others (Intel Optane) failed was due to costs. Intel couldn't get the prices down on those devices and they cost a fortune when you could get near identical performance with far cheaper hardware else where. and by near identical I mean something that the users (for...

ULTRARAM, a Technology That Aims to Bridge the Gap Between DRAM and NAND, Makes Another Step to Volume Production

This is exactly what I was thinking when I was reading it. I am sad that Intels PMem Optane memory is no more as I could really use it for one of my setups. Maybe this will fill in the void. I didn't read the whole thing, but hopefully this will use the existing DIMM slots for memory just...
