ASRock Addresses AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPU Boot Issues with New 3.20 Beta BIOS for AM5 Series Motherboards

I have a friend with a 670e taichi board (prebuilt system) he is pretty happy with it. I would be using one now except I couldn't find any in stock (and I didnt want to keep waiting) so went with current Asus board. Come to think of it not the first time this has happened to me. Then again...

Personal llm - pipe dream really

Thank you all. I do have Hyper V enabled, I've played around a little with VM's - getting Win 98 going to play old games kind of thing, or playing with a Linux system. How could I verify I have the linux subsystem installed/enabled? I think I have but it was a while back. I get the LLM will...

Personal llm - pipe dream really

Preferably under win 11. As I expect that using a VM to run Linux will lose to much cpu/gpu power or has that changed. Other than using CoPilot I have no experience or knowledge on the topic of the underside of an LLM. My hope is to set up an LLM that has a persistent memory, one where I can...

Router Recommendation for non-gaming, low tech level, relatives, please. :)

Two channels would be too complicated for them. Trust me on this.

Router Recommendation for non-gaming, low tech level, relatives, please. :)

I looked at the specs. I don't (other than what i bring) they have any wifi 6 much less 7 equipment. Still it will last them some time baring a new disruptive wifi technology. Be nice if it had the 6ghz channel but those two will never know the differance. I get to set it up for them next...

He ended up ignoring almost everything I said, except go with Asus, and got himself the BE7200. Much over budget too.

Router Recommendation for non-gaming, low tech level, relatives, please. :)

My Brother-in-law, plus of course Sister, are looking for a new Router. Budget is $200. Its been about a year since I bought one myself, so time to start researching again. :) They have two laptops between them, old, slow, but they like them, laptops. The items that need to keep working are...

World’s Fastest Gaming CPU Could Be Holding Back the NVIDIA RTX 5090 at 4K

How do you check your watts? I can check at the PSU level, using ICUE, to see how much it is taking from the wall and providing to my system, I dont get any kind of sub system breakdown though. Can Windows 11 see that? I dont see anything in the Resource monitor, or is there an App? Thanks :)...

World’s Fastest Gaming CPU Could Be Holding Back the NVIDIA RTX 5090 at 4K

All very interesting. Anyone have a spare $2k and an extra, hmm, how much would my energy bill go up? 7900 xtx to 5090? I asked copilot. Not sure it got the idle and light to medium power usage right though. Anyone have a better model? Or perhaps a better question (that makes me think of the...

AMD Was Planning to Launch the Radeon RX 9070 XT at $899 and Radeon RX 9070 at $749 on January 23 Before It Learned of NVIDIA’s Pricing for the G...

Needses some benches, that is for sure. :) When allowed of course. I dont see this generation flying for me, green, red or blue. Not enough Vram at a price I can eat without choking on it. I am very interested in how well they have improved the RT performance. How much vram do games need at...

Ya, I figured that assets would likely not be compatible. Lets hope the ue5 version comes with hi-res textures and a moderate price tag.

50-50 about the Serious|Not-Serious. I liked Oblivion but never quite finished the main quest, which would be nice. Still, mods, of the graphical kind, more flora, fauna, a much prettier world, be nice to not need to wait for the MODs to be remade.

My last two GPU's have been Red (and now a blue with a laptop) so I havnt seen the Green software in a while. Adding a slider rather than just telling the user what they need does sound like an improvement. On another topic, Depth of Field is my 'I hate it' option that always needs to be off...

Who decided what optimal performance is targeting? Image quality? FPS? Latency? Making it look like NV is important? Back in my 1080 ti (that was a good gpu) and prior days I never agreed with or liked what the NV software tried to tell me were the correct settings were to use with my games.
