    Valve's NEW Steam Machine...

Tamagotchi has sold over 100 million too.

ASUS Leads The Pack as OLED Monitor Shipments Increase by 65% From The Previous Year

I've been so close to pulling the trigger on an OLED monitor, just haven't quite done it yet. My IPS monitors are still doing ok, but if any of them were to meet with an unfortunately accident... it would be a shame.

ASUS Goes Retro with Its ProArt PA401, PA602 Wood Edition PC Cases Available in Select Beige or Retro Brown Colors

I kinda dig it actually. Not sure if I could actually find 5 1/4" drives to populate it though. But only if it still comes with the physical keyboard lock and Ghz speed indicator on the front.

Valve’s New VR Headset “Deckard” Will Launch in Late 2025 for $1,200, It’s Claimed

I don't think I'm worried too much about the specs. I mean, I am not expecting a machine that can run 4k 120FPS based on what's been published - so it won't be a top dollar high margin machine. Once you come down off that cliff, it's all about what the performance vs price comes in to be...

Valve’s New VR Headset “Deckard” Will Launch in Late 2025 for $1,200, It’s Claimed

Pretty sure Facebook killed VR when they bought Oculus and pushed out Palmer. Not that I think Palmer could have sustained it, but Meta sure as hell wasn't gonna make it. And didn't.

LIAN LI Launches SP and SX Platinum SFX Series PSUs with 80 PLUS Platinum Certification

Like... 20 years ago, Lian Li was awesome. Today.. not sure I'd go there. They compromised their "all aluminum" case principle chasing budget build dollars trying to capitalize on the brand name. They still have some decent products, but it's not a brand name that you can universally associate...

What’s the best way to install Windows when upgrading components?

Yeah, seriously considering my next build (which isn't being planned yet) being Linux on bare metal, and keeping a copy of Windows in a hypervisor for those things you just absolutely have to have it for. I've almost went and formatted my current rig, but I find that I'm much to lazy to do...

    Valve's NEW Steam Machine...

Yeah, I think these are gonna be priced a bit more than I'd like, but that's kinda the way everything is priced since Covid came and went anymore. Seems most folks are guessing around $600-1k for the Steam Box (depending on SSD size and such), and the Frame going for anywhere from $500 to $1k...

Horizon Steel Frontiers Is a Cross-Platform MMORPG Project Being Developed by NCSoft and Guerrilla for PC, iOS, and Android

PC/Mobile are almost always crappy mobile ports in a Windows wrapper. There are a few exceptions - but not many great ones to point at. Most of the time the interface is still meant for touchscreen, they just throw the mouse pointer at it

    Valve's NEW Steam Machine...

I gotta admit Even though I know it won’t have the same level of horsepower… this is a very compelling option versus building another gaming-compatible PC Maybe it won’t play with every option cranked to 11, but “don’t need to fiddle with it” console-like compatibly is starting to look very...

Chip Shortages Lead to More Industry Instability as SanDisk Raises Its Prices, and the NVIDIA RTX 50 SUPER Series Is Rumored to Be Delayed

I’ve found if I can describe what I want to do well enough for an AI to vibe code it - I can invariably more easily just look up the syntax and code it myself

Valve Says There's No Reason to Release a New Steam Deck Every Year: "We're Waiting for a Generational Leap in Compute Without Sacrificing Battery Lif

So, there is a wide gulf between “Can play the game” And “Can max out every setting in a game” You don’t need much for the first, as Valve well knows For the second you can never have enough

Sony Avoids Commenting on PlayStation 6 Update and Instead Says That PlayStation 5 Is Only Midway into Its Life Cycle

I'm good. I can wait. The PS5 just turned 5 and the Pro just turned 1, so it's not quite over the hill yet. It was 7 years between 4 and 5. with a Pro in the middle of that. And 7 years between the 3 and 4, which seemed a lot longer than that. And 6.5 years between the 2 and 3, which didn't seem...

Bungie Is Working on Removing Artwork from Marathon After a Former Employee Plagiarized Content

I'm betting this launch doesn't go well. A shame, the original Marathon is classic. This is ... not, I predict.

Three most popular hardware items on Newegg (all three may surprise you!) on Nov 02, 2025

I have trouble believing that a $4k prebuilt and a $1600 gpu are top sales - by volume or revenue. This looks more like a “we wish these were top sellers so jump on the bandwagon and buy one too” type marketing

Rockstar Announces Yet Another Delay for Grand Theft Auto VI Following Layoffs and Accusations of Union Busting

Only ever played 4 and it was ok, just ok. I’ve had 5 for years (free on EGS) but never could get into it - something about the gameplay just felt off

Which DOS games do you remember playing in the 90s?

Back when I first got 32G and it was “a lot”, 15 yrs ago or so? - I did try this - same exact thinking as you. It was underwhelming for most use cases. And then SSDs came along… I still only have 32G today…
