AMD Confirms Next Xbox Set to Launch in 2027 with a Custom RDNA 5 SoC, and Valve’s Steam Machine Is on Track for Its 2026 Release

However strip it all down to be a streaming gaming device and they might be able to cut enough corners to fool folks into lower priced versions. Let's just hope no more X|S shenanigans. I kind of see this happening on multiple fronts from PC to console.

AMD Confirms Next Xbox Set to Launch in 2027 with a Custom RDNA 5 SoC, and Valve’s Steam Machine Is on Track for Its 2026 Release

I agree, $1K for a console is insane but given $500+ began seven years ago, and we've got maybe 2 more years to go, it could happen. If possible they might try for $899 but to the average person that's pretty much the same after taxes and whatnot.

Google’s Project Genie AI, Which Lets Users Create Playable Worlds, May Be an Avalanche in the Making for Game Publishers

Ongoing critique of many publisher's is not paying attention to what people are wanting to play. Seems to me this is a ripe opportunity to do just that and use their resources to bring a quality game to market.

Valve Updates That It Needs to Solidify Memory and Storage Costs Before It Can Commit to Pricing for the Steam Machine, Controller, and Frame

I have a feeling someone dropped the ball in getting contracts in place early enough and by the time a decision was made it was too late.

Amazon’s Live-Action God of War Series Adds Another Actor from the Popular Video Game

I'm mixed on this. Did I want it? Definitely not, but I'm at least curious enough to try to watch the first episode when it comes out. I like what they did with Fallout (although I still haven't watched S2 yet). Meanwhile, Amazon MGM is going bonkers with all the video game adaptations...

Xbox’s Next-Gen Console Has Been “Fully Approved” by Microsoft, It’s Claimed as Console Gamers Attempt to Cope with More and More Games Com...

I agree. Starting to feel like I ought to be giving up on keeping track of time. It just seems more futile these days and energy is better spent keeping track of what is instead of what might be.

AMD Confirms Next Xbox Set to Launch in 2027 with a Custom RDNA 5 SoC, and Valve’s Steam Machine Is on Track for Its 2026 Release

Which aligns with the rumor that Sony may be doing the same. That's also around the time when the memory supply chains might stabilize but by then a $1K console be the new norm.

Next PlayStation and Xbox Consoles Are Rumored to Feature AMD UDNA/RNDA 5 Graphics

At this point it may not even matter. Some rumors say it'll be 2028 before we see a PS6 and MS has gone somewhat silent on the next Xbox.

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Upscaling Performance Review & Analysis

I don't believe so as it what is rendered doesn't resemble anything like that. Too me it just looks like a solid 70-90 FPS rendered w/o no waste and minimal duplication. As far as lag goes, mostly unnoticeable but I mainly play RPGs where fastest response is rarely needed. However, I do say that...

NVIDIA Shield Devices Continue to Get Support a Decade After Release from Passionate Engineers Who Helped Create Them

Yep, 2019 was technically the refresh for both models and there's been no word of a new model since, but NV has, in recent years, expanded the software side of it to select TVs. I know we have a few articles on it here somewhere.

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Upscaling Performance Review & Analysis

I've gotten used to using MFG, but in a really specific way. I use MFG x3 combined with either DLSS Quality or DLAA (I always smile a bit more when I can use this) at 4K and then limit FPS to 70-90 (depending on the game). This combination, to me, keeps the GPU from producing ridiculous frames...
