Meta’s Twitter Competitor ‘Threads’ App Crosses a Major Milestone as It Has Already Surpassed 100 Million Users

Meta’s Twitter competitor ‘Threads’ app appears to be a big hit now that it has already surpassed over 100 million users in just a matter of days following its launch. Social media platforms may come and go but if the last few days are any indication Threads may end up sticking around for a bit. It may have only launched on Wednesday but by Friday it reached 70 million users to which CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed that the launch had performed "way beyond our expectations". According to The Verge, it now has over 100 million users.

Cloudfare's CEO Matthew Prince posted the following graph yesterday showing Twitter's downward trend. In it, the platform's traffic seems to have full on fallen off a cliff following the launch of Threads. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Elon/Twitter will be following up on the threat of suing Meta/Threads over claims of using intellectual property, technology, and trade secrets.
