FEMA and FCC to Scare Nation Tomorrow with Emergency Alert Test

FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will be conducting a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on Wednesday, October 4. The WEA and EAS tests, which will be sent to all consumer cell phones and radios/televisions, respectively, are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET tomorrow. FEMA explained that it is holding these tests to ensure that they are still effective, and that wireless phones should receive the message only once.

Just had it happen a few times. All the alert messages they sent me were in Spanish. I dunno why.

I've had friends get one English one and one Spanish one, and I think I recall my mom getting two English ones. Seems to be pretty random if you will get English ones, Spanish ones, or a mix of the two.
