Is The Abyss finally coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray? It sure looks like it, as director James Cameron has taken a break from producing Avatar 3, 4, 5, and who knows what else to announce that The Abyss, his very first ocean film, has finally been remastered in 4K for viewing in modern cinemas.

It's not my favorite film but I'm considering going to see that if it actually shows in my area. To see that movie remastered and on the big screen would be spectacular.

Not sure if this is "remastered" but it is the special edition that's extended. I'd be surprised given the timing though that if wouldn't be.
