Yep, I kept thinking something similar as I've made the same comparison for a number of the gaming laptops I've owned. Sure they can totally compete with a desktop but when it comes to cooling/noise at max settings, not even close.

I will say the laptop in my sig, using balanced mode, is pretty quiet and can do a lot but max settings add around 10-15 FPS and then it gets loud.
 
Not sure how many caught on, but this thing essentially has a cutdown desktop RTX 5080, but with 24 GB instead of 16 GB.
