Following last week’s teaser, 2K Games has shared official details on Mafia: Definitive Edition, a “total remake” of the 2002 original that’s built from the ground up and modernized with 4K/HDR-ready visuals. This happens to be the centerpiece of the newly announced Mafia: Trilogy, which includes Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition.

The Definitive Edition is a great idea but a terrible implementation.

If you read the forums you will discover that it is a nightmarish mess of bugs, and many cannot even start the game. They clearly know of many of these issues as they even removed the "game ready" configuration from NVidia's GEForce Experience and Control Panel.

Worse, if you contact support they only give you cookie-cutter replies, most of which are obsolete and not longer valid, and they do not even attempt to solve the problem.

I recommend that if you don't already own this game you stay away until they fix their messes, which could be several more weeks or months.
